Jannu : eppur si muovono !
E’ il Primo Aprile.
Dmitry Golovchenko e Sergey Nilov , coppia di straordinari alpinisti russi – già vincitori del Piolet D’Or nel 2017 per l’incredibile nuova via aperta sulla parete Nord del Thalay Sagar, “Moveable Feast” , una goccia a piombo – sono al 16mo giorno di permanenza sullo Jannu (7710mt) .
Sono riusciti nella straordinaria impresa di scalare l’inviolata parete Est, dopo per poi uscire sulla cresta SE a circa 7400 metri e cominciare la discesa 11 giorni faticosissimi , di cui gli ultimi 4 passati sopra ai 7000 metri sotto nevicate copiosissime che li hanno costretti a fermarsi lungamente.
Stamattina , alle 12 ore locali , mountain.ru riferisce che Eliza Kubarska – alpinista e regista polacca, che è aggregata alla spedizione per girare un film – e che ora guida il team di soccorso che si è spostato sul versante Sud per attendere i due, ha annunciato :
Abbiamo trovato il passaggio dalla sella fino alla base del ghiacciaio [dove aspetteranno il duo]. Le difficoltà maggiori sono alle spalle. I ragazzi sono al Col des Jeunes a circa 6050 mt”
Ricordiamo che i due hanno attaccato la parete Est senza un’adeguato acclimatamento , ragione che ha convinto il terzo partecipante al team , il polacco Marcin Tomaszweski a ritirarsi, ritenendo troppo elevati i pericoli (valanghe, maltempo, scarsa acclimatazione). I due scalano in stile alpino, hanno finito le riserve di cibo e gas nel corso della discesa.
Un’ Odissea incredibile, una prova di resistenza sovrumana, che tutti auspichiamo chiudersi positivamente entro brevissimo.

Dmitry Golovchenko and Sergey Nilov, a couple of extraordinary Russian mountaineers – already winners of the Piolet D’Or in 2017 for the incredible new route opened on the north face of the Thalay Sagar, “Moveable Feast“, a plumb line – are on the Jannu (7710mt) since 16 days.
They succeeded in the extraordinary feat of climbing the inviolated East wall, after which they then top out on the SE ridge at about 7400 meters and began the descent 11 very tiring days, of which the last 4 passed over 7000 meters under very heavy snowfall that forced them to stop for a long time.
